The of Board of Directors
The Board of Directors leads the organization and is elected by the General Assembly. It is composed of 9 well-educated and dedicated volunteers: 4 members of the Executive Committee, 3 Board of Trustees, and 2 Board of Auditors. The President of the Board of Directors is its Legal Representative.
The Board of Trustees
The governing board is made up of 3 advisers and 2 auditors. These dedicated volunteers are involved in advocacy and provide technical advising for the staff, Board of Directors, and beneficiaries. These 5 trustees come from a variety of different vocational sectors including the government, civil society organizations, and the private sector. The Board of Trustees are skilled to help improve the organization’s quality of services.
The General Assembly
The supreme organ of the organization is its General Assembly. All 35 of these men and women have become involved with Uyisenga N’Manzi voluntarily because they want to work towards and share the organization’s mission and vision. All members of the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees are also committed members of the General Assembly.
The President of Uyisenga N’Manzi. He has been involved with the organization since its inception. NDAHIRO helped to found UNM with Ms NYIRATAMBA Annonciata, Bishop Nathan GASATURA and Canon GAKWANDI Jean . He holds many degrees including a Bachelor’s with honors from Makerere University, a Master’s in Education from Exeter University, and a Doctorate in Applied Linguistics from Liverpool University. Formerly, he has been a lecturer at Liverpool University and an author. Currently, he works as the Communications and Public Relations Adviser to the President of the Republic of Rwanda. Dr NDAHIRO is a successful and open leader of Uyisenga N’Manzi, he empowers the staff to work independently for the needs of the beneficiaries. His current team’s greatest ambition is for the beneficiaries to grow and be able to care for themselves. He is married with four children.
UWIHOREYE Chaste: Coordinator of Uyisenga N’Manzi. He has been affiliated with UNM serving under the social, psychological department since 2005, and as the National Coordinator in 2008. He holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the National University of Rwanda. He is a key component of the organization as a therapist, team leader and researcher. Very committed and sensitive to the problems of others; he is sometimes called upon to play the role of a father or a brother to beneficiaries of UNM. Chaste is charismatic, self-confident, optimistic, hardworking, and recognizes the value in all of his partners. He is married and father of 2 children.
The Staff of Uyisenga N’Manzi are 16 committed professionals with much experience. They work hard and with integrity to provide more than 3,200 orphans with social services, educational and career opportunities. The staff includes: The Coordinator, Clinical Psychologists, a Trauma Counsellor, Sociologists, a Financial manager, a Researcher, Mental Health Professionals, a Nurse, a Cashier and Secretary, a Customer Care Specialist, Drivers, Cleaners and Guards. UNM also has dedicated frequent, well-educated volunteers who help the organization with its many programs and provide administrative support. Those are Psycho social Animators, Paralegals, Community Development Workers and Adults Mentors called NKUNDABANA.
Five members of the staff were previously beneficiaries. They are now very committed to service and are proactive leaders. They have open access to all activities and this is proof of UNM’s achievement, close community, and continuity as an orphan support organization.
