Peace Center in Rwamagana, Eastern Province Under Construction!   Leave a comment

Uyisenga N’ Manzi’s initiative to create a peace center began 5 years ago, and today the construction is close to completion! Soon the members and wider community will be able to come together for many Uyisenga  N’Manzi activities such as: trainings for both staff and youth including vocational trainings, health services and life-skills instructions, camps during school holidays,  gardening, and it will also be used as a psychotherapy center. The center is located in Rwamagana, just a 40 minute drive East of Kigali city. The center contains a great hall with stage for large gatherings, a dining room and attached kitchen, 2 sizeable training rooms, 2 large dormitories for the participants, and 3 private bedrooms for visiting volunteers, instructors, and team members. The peace center will also be open for use by the surrounding community who will be free to participate in UNM activities, as well as rent the space for personal/community use. In this way, the center will enable UNM with another means to financially support their many members. We thank the European Union for contributing nearly 80% of all costs for the peace center.

We invite you to aid in finalizing the center. Your donation will enable UNM’s new peace center to open its doors to begin vocational trainings and HIV/AIDS workshops with the orphans in Rwanda. UNM is also seeking psychologists, sociologists, trainers, and lecturers to volunteer their time for empowering sessions at the new center.
